Design Loads

Design load for the vehicle deck (main deck and platform decks):

• Uniform static load : 1.0mt/m2 (weather load IWO exposed main deck aft)
• Static vertical load – Cars : 3.0 tonnes (single axle forward and aft, 1.5 tonnes and 2 tyres per axle)

(Platform decks and the main deck below platform decks are limited to loading passenger cars only)

• Static vertical Load – Trailers : 60 tonnes (tandem axles forward and aft, 30 tonnes and 8 tyres per tandem axle)
