Colombo Dockyard has launched a 60 m Buoy Tender Vessel being built for General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI). Designed to retrieve, launch, repair, maintain and transport marine navigation buoys, as well as general cargo, the 60m long vessel is driven by twin diesel engines and is capable of achieving a speed of 12 knots. The vessel is further equipped with a 22 tons capacity deck crane and has living quarters for 28 persons.
The Basic Concept Design is from MTX Marine Design & Consultants Pte Ltd, while SEDS has done the Detail Basic Design and CDPLC did the production design in-house.
